How to Create a Report on PolicyMogul
There are three ways to build reports on PolicyMogul:
Report-builder
Step 1: Navigate to Report-builder and click "create a report"
Step 2: Choose your report structure
Start by selecting either a pre-designed template (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual or commentary) or create a new report from scratch. Templates can be a quick way to get started if they align with the kind of data presentation you need.
Step 3: Select the topic you'd like to base your report on
Step 4: Add widgets
Widgets are the building blocks of your report. Each widget displays a different aspect of political data relevant to your interests. Click on ‘Add Widget’ and browse through the available options.
You can also hover over a widget on the left of the page and "drag" it into your report. It will automatically populate with data from the topic you select.
Step 5: Customise your widgets
Customise each widget to ensure it aligns with your work or advocacy efforts. This may involve setting specific parameters or filters that focus on your issue of interest, or display the same data over different timeframes.
Step 6: Add commentary
Enhance your report by adding your own commentary to explain the data or provide insights. This helps in making the report more personalised and relevant to your audience.
Step 7: Edit your design
Customise the design by adding your organisation’s logo and choosing a colour to match your branding for consistency and professionalism.
Step 8: Preview, export and share your report
Before finalising your report, use the ‘Preview’ feature to see how your report will look to others. Once your report is complete and you’ve previewed it, export it to a downloadable PDF format.
Add individual updates to a report
You can also create reports directly from updates you see on PolicyMogul. Simply navigate to the update you wish to report on and click 'Add to a report'. This will allow you to add the update to a new or existing report.
From there, you can enhance the report by adding the additional widgets and customisations, such as commentary or further analysis.
Add multiple items to a report
You can select multiple items and add them to a report on PolicyMogul. Simply select the items you want to include by using the checkboxes on any update list.
