PolicyMogul's writing assistant is a powerful AI tool which helps parliamentarians and their staff create high-quality content quickly and easily.

This feature has been built using OpenAI's technology (ChatGPT 3.5), and customised based on the UK political landscape.

There are four types of content that can currently be created using writing assistant:

  • Debate contributions

  • Questions

  • Early Day Motions

  • Responses to constituents

For each type, you will be asked to enter some information to help the AI understand what kind of output you want to produce.

For example, for debate contributions, you will be asked to provide the name or nature of the debate, along with any information you want the AI to factor into its response.

How to get the most out of the writing assistant

You'll be asked to enter some key information which helps the AI to understand the kind of content you want to produce. You'll see some example text written here, for example:

  • 'I believe that...'

  • 'My Party's stance is...'

  • 'It should be noted that...'

When entering information here, be as specific as possible and use natural language as if you're talking to a person. For example, you could write something like:

  • 'My Party, the Labour Party, has a clear position on this issue: _____'

  • 'Include reference to my constituent, _____, who ______'

  • 'According to research by _____, there are ______'

Ownership of output

You own the output the writing assistant creates, and it can be used verbatim, or edited.

You should always review content created by the writing assistant before publishing it or using it, to check it is accurate and reflects your views.

AI Assistant plan limits

There is a limit on the usage of the AI assistant tool.

For each team account, there is a limit of 100 credits used towards your AI-generated content each month. Each AI-generated output you use is 1 credit.

Your credits will renew on a monthly basis. This is based off of the date you subscribed to the platform as opposed to the calendar month.
