Managing Groups on PolicyMogul

The 'Groups' feature on PolicyMogul's People feature allows you to create and manage lists of stakeholders, ensuring you stay on top of the policymakers most important to your objectives. This tool is designed to save time by providing options for both manual and automated group management.

With PolicyMogul, there are two types of groups:

1. Static Groups

Static groups let you manually create and maintain lists of stakeholders. You have full control to add or remove members at any time.

To create a static group:

  • Navigate to People > My Groups.

  • Select Create new group and choose the static group option.

  • Manually add stakeholders by searching for their names or selecting them from the list in the Directory.

  • Save and update the group as your needs change.

2. Dynamic Groups

Dynamic groups automate the process of tracking stakeholders based on predefined criteria. Dynamic groups save time by automatically updating based on the latest political data.

To create a dynamic group:

  • Navigate to People > My Groups.

  • Select Create new group and choose the dynamic group option.

  • Define your criteria for adding stakeholders (e.g., role is..., vocal about..., etc).

  • Save the group, and it will update automatically as new data comes in.

Using dynamic groups can help you save time tracking stakeholders in many ways, including:

  • Tracking the stakeholders mentioning your organisation in Parliament by selecting stakeholders 'vocal about' an issue

  • Tracking stakeholders joining or leaving select committees or APPG's by selecting 'Select committee' or 'APPG officer'

Quick starter options for groups

When creating a group, you now have the option to:

  1. Start from Scratch: Build your group manually, selecting stakeholders and filters that suit your specific needs.

  2. Quick Starter Options: Use pre-set filters to quickly create groups. Examples include:

    • All MPs: Includes all MPs in the current Parliament

    • Vocal about...: Tracks policymakers vocal about a particular issue

    • Labour MPs: Focuses on all Labour MPs in the current Parliament

    • Positive about...: Includes stakeholders with positive sentiment on specific topics

    • Negative about...: Includes stakeholders with negative sentiment on specific topics

You can customise, add, or adjust the group filters at any time to refine the stakeholders included.

Managing your groups

  • Viewing groups: Access all your groups under People > Groups.

  • Deleting Groups: Click on 'Group details' and select Delete if the group is no longer needed.

Limitations for groups

The number of groups available to you depends on your PolicyMogul subscription plan:

  • Starter: 3 groups (static only).

  • Pro: 5 groups (static only).

  • Mogul: 8 groups (static or dynamic).

  • Enterprise: Unlimited groups (static or dynamic).

Note: Dynamic groups are available exclusively on the Mogul and Enterprise plans.
