Groups can be found on the Influence part of the platform, and the feature is available to all subscribers, with different access and limitations depending on your plan, as outlined below.

When you create a group, you can choose to make it either static or dynamic.

Static groups

Static groups comprise stakeholders you or your colleagues have added manually. To create a static group, navigate to Influence > My groups, and click 'Create new group'.

You can give the group a name and description, both of which are for your own informational purposes, and do not impact the nature of the group or its contacts.

Once the group has been created, you will be able to select stakeholders on the Directory tab to add to the static group. You can also add individual stakeholders to static groups from their stakeholder page on PolicyMogul.

Dynamic groups

Dynamic groups are updated based on filters that you create; when stakeholders meet those criteria, they will be added into those groups automatically. To create a dynamic group, navigate to Influence > My groups, and click 'Create new group'.

You can give the group a name and description, both of which are for your own informational purposes, and do not impact the nature of the group or its contacts.

Filters for dynamic groups include:

Vocal about...

Based on which policymakers are vocal on a specific issue

Role

e.g. MP, peer, etc.

Position

e.g. Cabinet, Shadow Cabinet

Party

e.g. Labour, Conservative

Champion status

Based on policymakers you have marked as promotors or detractors

Sentiment

Based on positive or negative sentiment amongst policymakers on an issue

Tags

Based on tags you have added to stakeholders

Region

e.g. London, North East

Select Committee

Based on memberships of specific committees

APPG

Based on memberships of specific APPGs

Existing contacts

If you had any contacts saved in your 'My contacts' list on PolicyMogul, you will notice that we have created a static group for you called 'Saved contacts'. You can keep, rename or delete this group if you wish.

Access levels and limitations

This feature is available to all PolicyMogul users, and your level of access depends on which plan you are subscribed to:

Starter plan - 3 groups
Pro plan - 5 groups
Mogul plan - 8 groups
Enterprise plan - unlimited groups

The ability to create dynamic groups is available on our Mogul and Enterprise plans only.
